Gratuity for an AED 10,000 Salary in the UAE

On an AED 10,000 basic salary, your end of service gratuity grows from a few thousand dirhams in the first year to a substantial sum over a long career. Here is the formula, the figures, and how AED 10,000 compares with other salaries.

The formula for an AED 10,000 basic salary

The daily wage is the basic salary divided by 30:

Daily wage = 10,000 ÷ 30 = AED 333.33
First 5 years: 21 days/yr · After 5 years: 30 days/yr · Cap: 2 years' basic wage

Gratuity then equals the daily wage multiplied by the number of qualifying days. For the underlying method, see our step-by-step guide.

How AED 10,000 compares with other salaries

Because gratuity scales directly with basic salary, the figure simply doubles when the basic salary doubles (for the same service):

When the two-year cap matters

For an AED 10,000 basic salary, the cap is two years' basic wage = AED 240,000 (720 days of basic wage). At ten years you have accrued 255 days, far below it. The cap typically only becomes relevant after roughly 25 years of service. The calculator applies it automatically if you ever reach it.
